When is the best time to get to know a Recruiter?

Posted by Wendy Weber

Before you need one!

It’s a good idea to register with a recruiter before you are desperately unhappy in your current position, or worse, before you find yourself unexpectedly unemployed.

Once your recruiter is acquainted with your professional background and career goals, they can keep you in mind for an ideal career opportunity. At Crandall Associates, we have had candidates indicate that they would only be interested in hearing about positions in the sunbelt…or they have a passion for cars – and would only be interested in a position in the automotive industry…or they really enjoy a particular product, and would like to work for the company that produces it. It has been our pleasure to make these dreams come true.

We have candidates that we have gotten to know over time, through discussions about searches that we are conducting. We learn enough about you to understand your strengths, and dreams, and career goals. When we receive a search assignment that fits your profile, we can proactively reach out to you. But if we don’t know you, we can’t call you!

We understand that many people don’t think about establishing a relationship with a recruiter until they are out of work. And our door is always open. But even if you are happily employed, we’d like to become acquainted and add you to our network of contacts. The best time to get to know us is before you need us.
