Direct Marketing Club of NY – September 2011 meeting
Yesterday I attended an informative DMCNY luncheon with 2 great speakers; Steve Geer, VP of New Media for OMP, and Paull Young, Director of Digital at charity:water. The presentation was entitled “How Master Marketers Raise Millions with Social Media”. One of my clients was a speaker, so I wanted to be there both to learn, and to support.
Would you be surprised to learn that:
Email was the #1 driver of Obama’s online fundraising efforts? (Per Geer)
Charity:water spends only $.08 to raise $1.00 (Young)
Geer pointed out something thought provoking…most older nonprofits will spend $30 to acquire an offline donor, but $0 to acquire an online donor.
All in all, a very worthwhile presentation!
