Can Pinterest Help Your Career?

She quotes Brie Reynolds, content and social media manager for the job search site FlexJobs, who feels that the visual element of Pinterest can provide an edge for job seekers.

Not sure I agree.

Though traditional resumes are not necessarily visually enticing and “fun”, they provide important information that allows me to evaluate a candidate’s background and suitability for a new job.  Pinning pictures of one’s alma mater, hobbies and volunteer commitments, as the article suggests,  may help to show a broader perspective about the individual, but is not necessary, and may even be a distraction.
