The New Resume: It’s 140 Characters

Twitter becoming the new job board?  The new resume?  I disagree.

The idea that “using Twitter to watch people interact, learn what their positions are, and who their Twitter friends are” provides “a pretty good picture” is silly, and will not result in an informed hire.

I embrace social media, and opened my Twitter account in early 2008.  I regularly tweet my search assignments, and not ONCE has it resulted in a suitable candidate, let alone a placement.

If you are serious about a job hunt…or making a hire…there are certainly better avenues to a hire than Twitter.
